General music classes at Sunset Ridge are taught by Mrs. DiPaola-Davis and Ms. Brendel and include singing, movement activities, music literacy, composition and improvisation. Guided listening includes a focus of one musician per month as well as American folk music, jazz, blues, Western classical music—all which will be used to reinforce the general music curriculum. Science, math, social studies, language arts, Chinese and Spanish subjects are supported by the repertoire of the general music class and many collaborative lessons (Teacher-Artist Collaborations) will be taught among Sunset Ridge teachers to support these curricula.
